Our church sponsors a one-week mission trip to Appalachia - Beverly, Kentucky to the oldest United Methodist Mission in the country each April. Red Bird Mission includes a K-12 school, an outreach center, a senior center, a medical/dental clinic, and WORK CAMP, which is a home-repair ministry to residents of the hills surrounding Beverly Kentucky. Our next trip will be April 25, 2020.
Salvation Army - Every year our congregation dresses over 100 bears and returns them to the Salvation Army office where they are given to needy children for Christmas. The youth groups participate as bell ringers for the Salvation Army during the holidays and also hold a coat drive each year as part of their annual Box City to raise awareness for the needs of the homeless in our community.
Children's Home - Every Fifth Sunday during the year, we collect a special offering for the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home, located in Enterprise, Florida. The Children's Home strives to create an atmosphere which enables children and families with special needs to experience God's love and care. They combine Christian influence with a healing, caring, therapeutic community. We visit the Children’s Home at least once a year during the North Central District’s Day on Campus and at Christmastime we host a sock and battery drive for the children. For more information contact our Children's Home Representative, Shirley Eck.
